In designland, desire is the mother of invention. So when we spotted a gap in the marketplace for narrow tables that can nestle right up next to a sofa or chair, it was time to christen a new category: the “hugger”. Rectangular or round, clean-lined or mod, these pieces provide the perfect perch for a book, cup of tea, or a Bellini or three. And with such a petite footprint, they’re easy to plop into a new spot when the party moves on.
