Lyn Peterson serves as president and creative director of Motif Designs.  The company, co-founded with her husband Karl Friberg, designs and produces fine fabrics, wall-coverings, furniture, and decorative accessories.

Drawing on her personal experience and professional expertise, Lyn helps homeowners and contractors plan how a family will actually live in a space, envisioning such scenarios as,  “When you come in the front door with a bundle of groceries, where do the keys go?” Or, “Is the wiring adequate in the family room for the new flat-screen TV?”  Lyn is a reality-check for people who want to live in a true home, not a show house.

Making her pragmatic approach even more accessible, Lyn has collected her ideas, insights, and advice into book form:
